I think that this video is so important to understand this way where students learn. We have to take into account the use of structures to teach but not all the time because is depending the method and the real importance in teaching is communicate something, to be understable to the others.
In the second language acquisition is important to know as Marjo's research refer us is important that adults learners who already have a first leanguage in tact.
From my point of view i think that the sociolinguistic environment is so important at the moment to learn a language, it has so many steps and the first one is listening how to pronounce and are produce those sounds of the same way. Besides, we dont learn on a syntax way at the beginning it doesn't have a coherence at the moment we start learn, but later by practice, it will be developed by build a simple coherence sentences that has a real meaning on a real context.
In my opinion, this video give us important information about teaching, learning and acquisition of the language, that we as teachers must to take into account. For instance, we must to know the relevant role that the environment plays in the teaching, for this reason, we should to be prepared to teach in different contexts. In addition, to get success in our language learning we should to know, that It isn't easy, it taking into account that for native speakers is hard to learn their language, for this reason we must to be in constant contact with the English in order to improve it.
It is a good video because it show us the acquisition process of children which it isn’t based on syntax and morphology. Children must learn the rules of the language game, for example how to articulate words and how to put them together in ways that are acceptable to the people around them. in order to understand child language acquisition we need to focus in two very important things in mind, one, drawing on physical ability, is that we learn in stages (we make sure we can walk before we run) the other, drawing on intellectual ability, is that we generalize from past experience (if you see an insect that you never saw before and that looks like a cockroach you're likely to think it may be a cockroach) these strategies help us explain child productions in the whole of language, from pronunciation through vocabulary and grammar to skills like how to hold a conversation.
i think that the ability to organize linguistic data such as the pivot grammar. knowledge that only a certain linguistic system is possible and other not and constant evaluation and creation. the linguistic system, which make simple empirical models suitable in. given the premise that there is an inner desire to learn or acquire language provides a systematic procedure in the first language development that begins with the development of consciousness about the environment surrounding the linguistic.
Well, I can say that of all videos that I had seen in this space, this is the most interesting to me, because each exhibitor used an especial dynamic to transmit the message, taking in mind of course, the nationality of each one. But, the most important in this case, it is the perspective about language learning and the different strategies or theories that we need to know, if we want to help the students with serious problems according with the acquisition of the first language.
This video is so important to understand in which way children acquire their first and second language. FLA that develops in the first years of human life is largely the most important period for communicative development time as humans can understand several languages if your child was exposed to different language contexts. and SLA language is learned by necessity at the time that we are aware or want to learn another language than we have as the basis of our communication
I think is interesting the way that one of them explains how language acquisition is not something that all of us are predisposed to acquire, she points out the importance of cultural enviroment and they way context affects our language acquisition process. I also think is important to highlight how they exposed the main similarities and differences between FLA and SLA, the development of these processes and all of the theory that supports and its against all of the things we accept as explicit in Language Learning.
The video is very interesting because shows us the different between first and second language adquisition. the first language adquisition is our mother tongue and the second language adquisition is a foreing language for example english, french etc.. In the first language adquisition the learned understand the rules but in the second language adquisition the learned doesn´t understand the rules.
In the first part of the video the rapporteur explain the process that use the children for acquire the mother language, then they show us how it process help with the learn of the second language and how the person process it in the brain The second part of the video is the importance of be in a real context and work with the enviroment that help to the person to develop his new language and his new knowledge. Finally we have the importance of comunicate in a good way and trasmit a good information not only for our students, also with our group of realtions
I would like to clarify the concepts of FLA and SLA since we have a litlle confusion. First language acquisition involves the process of natural assimilation, involving intuition and subconscious learning. It is similar when children learn their mother tongue. Also, this process develops the skill of interacting with native speakers to understand and speak their language. Now, Second Language Acquisition refers to receiving the information, transforming it and storing it in memory. (The Best example is INMERSION PROGRAMS)
